Mark Opel currently serves as a senior conservation finance adviser to the Frankfurt Zoological Society for the Legacy Landscapes initiative and to the Campaign for Nature. His career includes 16 years in senior fundraising and business development roles at private equity firm American Capital, Ltd. Prior to American Capital, he served as president of off-grid solar company SunLight Power International and chief operating officer at an energy conservation services on the east coast of the U.S. Mark is a lifelong conservationist and currently serves on the board of the Caribbean chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
